No dental work should be performed if the supporting tissues around the teeth are sick. Those responsible for damaging these tissues (bone and gum) are the natural bacteria found in the mouth, resulting in gingivitis, which is the most common gum disease but if not treated in time, can progress into something much worse, more serious and invasive is called periodontitis.

Some undoubted signs of these diseases ranging from bleeding gums and bad breath until the feeling of loose teeth. To restore the health of these tissues is vital thorough clinical and radiographic evaluation, deep cleanings and sometimes additional procedures may be needed as the use of special membranes and bone grafts for example.
